Problems plotting water levels from EQuIS database
Permalink

I have been using the cross section function of the software but I am having trouble using the water level part – it seems to have an issue with the format of the data in Equis.  As we have oils at the surface of the groundwater we have a calculation step which corrects the groundwater level for the thickness of the oil – would this be causing the issue.

EnviroInsite gives you the same water level calculation methods that are available in the Water Levels report in EQuIS Pro.   It might be worth starting there to see which parameters give you the calculated water values you want.  You can make the following choices from the Water Levels report:

  • Reported Value - calculate, corrected_elevation, or water_level_elev
  • Calculation - Elevation - historical_reference_elev, measure_datum, surf_elev, top_casing_elev
  • Calculation - Depth - calculate, corrected_depth, water_level_depth

In EnviroInsite you have access to these same options from the EQuIS Options dialog box.  The selection is made as follows:

(1) Edit -> EQuIS Options (to open the EQuIS Options dialog box)

(2)Select the Data Mapping tab

Look at the choices in the Water Elevation section of the dialog.  You’ll notice that the choices for reported value, reference elevation, and water depth are exactly the same as are used in the Water Levels report in EQuIS Pro.
