I used to be able to open the Excel database when EI was open and using it. This was very handy. Now Excel says the file is locked and I can't edit if EI is using it. Is there any way to let EI and Excel simultaneously use the database?
It's one of those things of something gained and something lost. I did eliminate that possibility because clients were doing things that were tying up the program or corrupting the database. If you use MS Access, you'll find that you still have the ability to get into the database. The other thing to look at is using the Browse feature in EnviroInsite. You can see all the data and make some minor edits to the data file from there. Sometimes, if I really need to see the data in Excel, I’ll copy the spreadsheet to another file and look at the data there while the original is connected to EnviroInsite. Bruce Jacobs
