9.1.0.49 (2014-05-08) - Improved 3d-rotate control and eliminated superfluous redraws
Implemented 3d-rotate equivalent to constrained-orbit of AutoCAD for improved control of 3d-rotate. Also reduced superfluous screen redraws that were occurring following rotate action."
Does anyone know how to implement the new "constrained-orbit" 3D rotation?

The constrained-orbit rotation is the default. You implement it the same as with the prior 3d rotation by selecting the green circular arrow from the zoom tool bar. Then click once in your image to start the rotation and then click and drag to rotate the view. If you had previously used the old 3d rotate, I think you'll find this one much easier to use.
OK. I think I see the difference between the new functionality and the old. I was expecting the rotation to be hard-constrained to a single axis. In playing with this a little it doesn't seem that the constraint is that severe. But it helps keep you out of trouble.
For example I find that it is impossible to get the 3D scene "upside down". Also as the rotation passes through a level orientation (i.e. where the land surface map looks like a thin line because you are getting an unobstructed view of the subsurface) the 3D image is in fact level with the land surface line appearing horizontal.
I will play with this some more, but it does seem easier to use!
