I am getting the following error message when attempting to generate a borehole log:
CDownHolePtDataSegment::DrawSpecified Cast is not valid
at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.GetFloat(int32 i)
at ei_dblib3.GeophysTbl.GetValue()
The pop-up box with the same message appears four times for each sheet of the log that is generated (probably once for constituent type in the point values sheet). No point values show up when the log is generated.
I’ve attached the database and log template. The database passes the link screening with no errors.
This is a long borehole/well with 959 entries in the point values sheet.
That’s quite a hole. I got the log to work by entering 0’s in the empty cells of the Value column. The excel data driver looks at the first ten rows and makes its mind up as to what type of data is contained in the column. Since you had left them blank, it thought perhaps that this was a text field. By entering 0’s as in the attached, it knew that this column contained numeric data. I’ve attached the modified data file.
You may want to look at one of the example boring log templates for an alternative means of presenting the well construction diagram. We’ve made some improvements to that feature that you may want to take advantage of.
