Thanks Bruce,

 I’ve distributed EnviroInsite installation files and advertised fact to all my users that they need to activate EnviroInsite by 1st July, and am just putting together an installation instruction manual for them, but I am stuck myself!

 I have EnviroInsite installed successfully, but it’s not obvious to me how I now activate the licence?

 If I try to run an EnviroInsite Data Export through EQuIS Pro I get a message as below:

"EnviroInsite v7 not installed or has not been run once independently of EQuIS Pro."

 If I open EnviroInsite independently, I get the message:

"The license for your installation of EnviroInsite must be activated.  Please contact sales@enviroinsite.com for more information." 

Could you advise of steps my users need to follow to be able to activate their licences?

Here are the instructions to get you going.  Call me if you have any questions.

Running EnviroInsite from EQuIS Pro

If you have EQuIS Pro 5.6.2 installed then you need to install EarthSoft’s hot fix to use EQuIS Pro with the latest version of EnviroInsite.  Here’s the link they sent me (http://community.earthsoft.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=898) if you want to do it yourself or you can work with the EarthSoft helpdesk.  I apologize on behalf of EarthSoft for the inconvenience of this particular fix.  Once you’ve installed that fix then you shouldn’t have any problem with opening EnviroInsite from EQuIS Pro, although you do still need to activate EnviroInsite following the instructions below to actually do anything with it. 

If you don’t have EQuIS Pro 5.6.2 installed then I need to send you an older version of EnviroInsite.  Let me know if that’s the case and I’ll help you work that out.

Activating EnviroInsite

As far as activating EnviroInsite goes, here are the instructions to do that.  This needs to be done on each computer that has EnviroInsite installed.

 (1)   Start EnviroInsite

(2)   Select Help -> Activate… from the main menu

(3)   Hit the Get Code button

 If your program starts an email message:

 Then complete the company information and send this back to sales@enviroinsite.com.  Now you’re done with this step.   We will receive your email and then return the activation code and the final activation instructions – typically within 24 hours.  If you don’t get this response within a day please do send an email to bjacobs@enviroinsite.com or call me directly to let me know.  It may be that your server has blocked our response.

 If you don’t see anything after completing step 3 then you’ll need to follow these alternative instructions:

 (1)   Start EnviroInsite

(2)   Select Help -> About EnviroInsite

(3)   Highlight the 16-digit code next to the word system

(4)   Hit Ctrl-C to copy the code to the clipboard

(5)   Open an email to sales@enviroinsite.com and enter your name, company, and email address in the body of the email.

(6)   Hit Ctrl-V to paste the 16-digit code into the email

(7)   Enter “EI Activation Code” in the subject line and return this email to sales@enviroinsite.com.
