Copy and Paste Views

I often use PowerPoint for final graphics.  From EI, I EDIT/COPY VIEW then paste special into a PowerPoint slide.  Sometimes I can paste special a windows metafile (vector graphics) but sometimes I can only paste a bitmap image.  I like the metafile much better.  I have found no basis as to whether I get a metafile or a bitmap.  Any suggestions?

You are correct in observing that the image copied to the clipboard is sometimes a metafile and other times a bitmap image. Our preference is also to use the metafile whenever possible, however the metafiles don't seem to handle transparent objects correctly. Knowing this, we have modified the code to check first if there is a visible transparent object. If there is then the image copied to the clipboard will be a bitmap image. If there is no visible transparent object then we will copy a metafile to the clipboard.

(I'll leave this post a day or two and then will move it from Release History to Technical Support.)
